Lisey's story shows us the life of a famous novelist, played by Clive Owen, two years after his death. Lisey, played by Julianne Moore, finds herself tidying up her late husband's office when faces the reality of acknowledging that he had repressed and forgotten the pain that had meant his death. In addition, she faces Jim Dooley (role played by Dane Dehaan), a fan of the writer who pressures Lisey to donate the documentation that she still has of her husband to the university.
This new series from Apple, is composed of 8 episodes, all of them written by Stephen King, a work that he has recognized is costing him more than it should, since adapting a novel to a series of 8 episodes requires him to further develop the characters and create new plots. Chilean Pablo Larraín will be in charge of directing the series.
Stephen King states that now that streaming video services are more popular, there is much more freedom to make these types of adaptations, so it is likely that this is not the only novel to reach the small screen through Apple's video streaming service.
