Delete only files deleted from a USB drive from the trash

The recycle bin has been one of the best inventions in computing. Thanks to this trash, we can recover any file that we have accidentally or consciously deleted but that we want to recover. However, many are the users who have the habit of emptying it every day every time they see it full of papers, including me, subtracting all the effectiveness that it offers us, especially if we do not use Time Machine to save a copy of all the files and documents that we have stored on our Mac.

Every time we delete a file from our USB drive, the file goes to the recycle bin occupying a space that we can use for anything else. If we often work with external drives, it is likely that over time, and if we do not empty the recycle bin every hour, it will begin to occupy an important space on our hard drive, until the days go by and the files stored in it are automatically deleted. If we want our trash to only fill with files from our hard drive, preventing the files we delete from filling our trash, we can use Curb.

Curb is a small free application that allows us to empty all the items in our trash that belong to a USB drive, be it a USB stick or hard drive. The operation is very simple, since once we have deleted the files, we just have to drag the icon of the unit to Curb, so that it automatically delete from the trash all the elements that have been copied to the trash on our Mac in case we want to recover them later. Curb is supported as of macOS 10.6 and available for free download from the developer page.
