Since the beginning of 2014, Delta Air Lines has equipped its entire crew of tablets Microsoft Surface and large mobile phones, Microsoft Lumia 1520, the largest mobile manufactured by the company. However, it seems that Delta Airlines wants to give Microsoft the slip and abandon the Windows platform on its mobile devices. As it has been possible to filter an internal email that the airline has sent to its employees.

The text indicates that starting next year 2018, the company will equip its crews with new equipment to replace Microsoft models. And the teams chosen are from Apple. To be more specific, pilots (approximately 14.000 approximately) and flight attendants (approximately 23.000 members) will receive a 10,5-inch iPad Pro and an iPhone 7 Plus, respectively.

In this way, flight attendants will be able to continue serving travelers thanks to the customer service application, as well as to be able to check in everything that is consumed during the flights. Likewise, the new iPhone of the crew will have tools to inform the passenger in real time.

For their part, the pilots will change their current tool for the 10,5-inch iPad Pro. The tablets Apple will be the new companions of these professionals and they will be equipped with applications that help to plan flights, know the weather at all times, as well as have a large virtual library with all the manuals of the profession.

Delta Airlines wants to follow the line of its partners who already offer these equipment to their employees. This way, it will also be much easier to enjoy applications together as well as to develop new functions under a single platform and not have to think about adapting them to Windows.

Now, it seems that the company does not completely disassociate itself from Microsoft, since some applications that will be used in the new batch of iPhones will be developed by Microsoft Dynamics.
