The difference between Reminders and events on iOS

ios reminders events differences

We continue with this line of articles about native iOS apps. While already we talk about the Calendar And about Siri, today I will briefly talk about Reminders. A very useful app that not all users make use of.

With this article I intend to show you the advantages of this application and invite you to use it in your day-to-day life.

Your reminders at your fingertips

May you never forget something, may you never be late to complete a task or get somewhere. We know that Notes are a very good place to jot down things and we know well the advantages and functions of the Calendar, but this is for events and dates, while Reminders are for times and tasks. The interface of the native app itself is very simple. You have a kind of paper where you write down the reminders as a list. You can share them with your family through iCloud or you can have them exclusively for yourself.

There you go including reminders and once you make or finish them, click on the circle on the left, it is filed as done. You will receive a notification to remind you of whatever you have pointed out at the agreed time or when you arrive at the place you have specified. Localization with reminders works very well and I invite you to try it. Ask Siri, for example, say, "Hey Siri, remind me to call X when I get home" and it will.

Write them down by hand or ask Siri for them. Your iPhone, iPad, Mac and now also your Apple Watch have this app. Notification and reminders are synced to iCloud in all of them, so you can write it down on your iPad while you work and then let the iPhone notify you when you leave home.

I invite you to try all this Reminders, for me they are essential in my operating system and on my iPhone.

Hello. Calendar has a benefit and is to move an email on a date and time for you to deal with the issue, as a reminder. The question Can you do the same with the Reminder app? Thanks for your answer. Greetings from Buenos Aires

Good question. I think not, that the emails to Calendar yes, but not to Reminders, because they are an independent list that does not store data, only text that will alert you at the time or place that you decide.
      Greetings.
