Video streaming services have become the most comfortable method of consuming any type of content, especially if we talk about series. While it is true that both Netflix and Apple TV + also offer us a wide catalog of original films, this is not their main virtue, so we are forced to turn to the iTunes Store.
If we talk about the iTunes Store, we have to talk about Disney. The entertainment giant has just updated almost the entire catalog available on Apple's movie rental and purchase platform adding support in 4K and HDR quality, at the same price as so far, so if you had already bought any of their movies in HD quality, the 4K version is now available for free.
Disney has updated the resolution of most of its movies available in the iTunes Store for free, as have other production companies that also offer their content in the Apple store.
The Star Wars movies, Toy Story, Cars ... are some of the movies already available in 4K, however some of the Marvel movies are still only available in HD resolution. To check if your favorite movie is available in 4K, we must access the catalog available through the Apple TV application from Apple TV or iOS, and look for the name of the movie.
On the movie labels, 4K will be displayed if the movie is already available in this resolution. In 2017, with the launch of Apple TV 4K, Apple announced that most of the catalog available on the iTunes Store would be upgraded to 4K resolution for freeDisney being the only one that did not update its content, obviously because it was reserving that option for its streaming video service.
While this feature was initially launched in the United States, it appears that little by little it is expanding to more countries, so it will be a matter of time before it is also available in our country.
