One of the interesting news from Apple related to the iWork suite was when it was announced that it would be free for iOS and OS X users. This news got a bit more bad when Apple finished the sentence by explaining that the suite was free for those users that they had a Mac from 2013 onwards And many of us were surprised by this decision because it shut out Mac users for no apparent reason. By the time Apple announced this, many Mac users decided to find a way to install the iWork suite for free and many succeeded, today we are going to see the totally legal method to install the Apple suite totally free on any Mac.
The first thing Apple did to prevent installation on older Macs was to remove the iWork '09 test suite, but this was soon remedied online, the download is still active today of the trial version to complete the installation process. So the first thing we are going to do is download iWork '09 Trial. Once we have it on the Mac we just have to follow the installation steps and that's it.
Once we have the suite with all the applications installed on the Mac we have to open them at the same time: Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Once open we close them one by one. The next step is important, we go to the preferences of the language and region system and put the language of our Mac in English.
Once we have changed the language we have to go to the Mac App Store (which had to be closed) and click on the tab Updates. We update the iWork suite that surely appears to us to update and if they do not appear we look for them by typing iWork in the browser.
When we have the three applications updated we can put our Mac back in Spanish in the system preferences.

Good Ignacio, if you can install them without problem. When you update in the Mac App Store just do it with Numbers and Keynote

It worked for me just by changing the language of the Mac and entering the app store again, exit get. and everything was downloaded for free, iwork and ilife.

For those who do not work, keep in mind that when updating once all the steps are done, three new Pages, Numbers and Keynote files of the new version are created, those are the ones you have to open, while the version files '09 you can delete them. I have a MacbookPro from 2010, updating to The Captain, it got hung up, I took it to a store that sells Apple (in my city there is no Apple store) and they returned it to me working, but without a single data or anything at all. Sorry for the previous comment. I just observed that it did work. In applications it had the iWork09 folder and inside its applications. In those I gave him the trail or buy again. But what I didn't realize is that instead of going into the iWork09 folder, I looked in applications directly and a file had been created for me for pages numbers or keynote. It works perfect.
You have to change in system preferences> security and privacy> allow installation from any source.
You don't have to select anything (test or purchase the program), just open all three and then close all three.
Change the language to "US English" and then open App Store> updates and update.
Tested on iMac mid 2007 with MAC OS X 10.11.06 with clean install.
