Dropbox no longer supports the following operating systems: OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8

Through an email sent to all of its customers, Dropbox announces that they no longer support the oldest Apple OS. What they mean by this is that they will not receive more updates except in very specific cases that may be related to the security of the tool.

As with other applications for Mac, Dropbox developers clarify that OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 are out of any improvement or update, which it does not mean that they cannot continue to be used as before.

In this respect, Windows Vista also falls within this OS screen they are doing from Dropbox. In general, the updates reach a point and in this case we have to be aware of it, since it happens with all the applications and services that we have today. This is the statement that all those who have a Dropbox account are receiving or will receive shortly:

Hello Jordi:

We contacted you to let you know that Dropbox no longer supports the following operating systems: OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7, OS X 10.8, and Windows Vista. Windows 7 is the minimum version of Windows required to run the application and OS X 10.9 is Apple's minimum version.

Because one or more of your computers recently used the Dropbox desktop app on one of these operating systems, you were logged out of the Dropbox desktop app on those computers. Computers with an unsupported operating system will no longer be able to access the Dropbox desktop app or receive or send file updates from Dropbox. Don't worry: your files haven't gone anywhere. To continue using the Dropbox desktop app, update your operating system. To do this, check the Apple or Microsoft website. If you can't update your operating system, you can continue to access your files through the Dropbox website (dropbox.com) or other devices with a supported operating system.

If you run the Dropbox desktop app on multiple computers, go to Account settings to see which of your devices is still linked to Dropbox.

With this they clarify the situation and communicate the end of support for the mentioned versions.
