The Ueberschall company has just announced the free release of the second version of its Elastik sample and loop playback engine, with support for Windows and Mac.
Elastik 2 has a redesigned interface, as well as major improvements to the audio engine. It has a new file browser with advanced search system and faster access to sounds, a central control loops with editing functions for each part, pre-listening in synchronization, sequence mode, random replacement of sounds and control of multiple banks of sound simultaneously.
It also has the élastique pro algorithm from zplane.development that allows high quality pitch and time changes. Elastik 2 works on both Windows and Mac, with support for operation as a standalone application, or via VST, AU and RTAS plugin.
