Elgato, the famous accessories brand best known for its different external television receivers and capturers for PC and Mac, has just presented a new Thunderbolt 2 dock. This would use the aforementioned high speed connection so that we can connect both a 4K display and Gigabit Ethernet, multiple USB devices through a single cable to a MacBook or an Ultrabook.

The dock is actually Elgato's second attempt at maintaining an organization of cables and connections on our desk but this time using the increased bandwidth provided by the new Thunderbolt 2 connection to be able to have more devices connected at the same time, including two USB 3.0 ports at 5 Gbps.

Specifically on the back there are two USB 3.0 ports and a gigabit ethernet port along with an HDMI port. The latter can, as I have already mentioned, with 4K resolution screens, which will be greatly appreciated by those professionals and amateurs who dedicate themselves to video editing with screens of this type.

In addition, two Thunderbolt 2 ports are also included for daisy chain more peripherals and it is that in fact, Elgato points out that a second Thunderbolt 2 dock can be connected If necessary. This dock supports both an HDMI connected display and a Thunderbolt display simultaneously.

On the front, there is a third USB 3.0 port. Elgato also includes separate microphone and headphone inputs with the latter having its own amplifier. USB ports provide 1.5A which means that they are capable of charging different devices that require a lot of battery demand such as different iPads or other tablets with large batteries, the funny thing is that it keeps its ability to charge the devices active even when the MacBook, iMac ... are turned off .

The price of this accessory is € 229 and can already be purchased through the online store that Elgato has in Spain through this link.
