You just got your new Mac with Apple Silicon and the M1 chip. You come from Windows and you are more familiar with Edge browser than Safari and you need to be able to use it. Until yesterday, you only had the beta version to be able to surf the Internet and have your bookmarks and history fully updated and functional. However, Microsoft has already finished the testing phase and we have available the stable version of your browser.
Microsoft's Edge browser is not the best on the market, but it has certainly improved a lot from the old Internet Explorer and is quite similar to other browsers on the market. For just a day you have at your disposal the final version for new Macs with the M1 chip. From the official Microsoft page you can download the new version. At that time it will ask you to choose between two variants:
Mac with Intel chip
Mac with Apple chip. This means that Edge runs natively and it doesn't have to be translated via Rosetta 2 on Apple's Mac M1s.
The beta phase started in mid December and a month and a half later we have this final version and totally stable available for the most modern models of Mac computers (Mac mini and MacBook Pro 13 ″) that have the company's own processor and that Tim Cook announced last year. The new version arrives at the right time, ready to face a year 2021, where it is expected that there will be no more Mac with Intel processors.
Some have already tried this new version and state through the comments of 9To5Mac, that at the moment seems just as fast as chrome and that it appears to meet the privacy and security standards required by Apple.
