A bug in Apple Pay prevents adding cards after a restore

Despite the great success that Apple Pay is having in the United States, the only country where the service is currently active, some users have been reporting a problem related to the inability to add your cards back after a restore Of the device.

Apple Pay, with problems

One of the highlights of Apple Pay it's your safety. This implies that, when we restore our iPhone, all the data about credit / debit cards added are automatically deleted in such a way that, after the restoration process, it is necessary to repeat the entire configuration process of Apple Pay and add the cards again. The problem has arisen when some users have not been able to re-add the cards that they had already added prior to the restoration, receiving instead an alert on the screen telling them to try again later or to contact the issuing entity of your card.

But as they point out from BGR, the problem, although known now, is not new and Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), I would have tried to make it go unnoticed since the first complaints in the support forums date back to the middle of last December and, more specifically, to the 13th when the user Roshanalex opened a new thread entitled «Cannot add cards back to apple pay after restoring '.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), offered to replace the terminal with a restored one, something the user refused:

I refused to get a replacement for my device with a refurbished phone because I strongly believed that it's an issue with Apple not my device.

This problem suffered by Apple Pay finally it seems to have been solved, as the user Roshanalex himself announced in the support forum last Wednesday, December 31:

I just tried to add a card to Apple Pay and it worked. Seems like Apple fixed the issue. So I recommend you all to try to add a card to your passbook and see if it's working. (…) Finally they (Apple) fixed it. Everybody try adding a card and let me know.

Minutes later another user, SDCHI, confirmed that he had also tried to add his card to Apple Pay and indeed it was working correctly. Since then, other affected users have been confirming in the same forum that the problem seems solved and everyone can add their cards to Apple Pay.
