Fantastical 3.0: Free and with subscription mode

Fantastical 3.0 is upgraded to subscription

Flexibits has taken a long time to fall into the subscription networks. One of the best calendar apps for Mac (actually for any Apple device), Fantastical, it is updated to version 3.0 and brings with it a new management model. Now the applications are unique for all platforms (this is good, we stop paying for each version depending on which device) but it brings with it one of the fashions that I like the least: subscriptions.

For some, paying month to month to use an application may not matter, but for others like me, there are applications where it does not make much sense. Fantastical is one of them. A calendar, no matter how many calendar, I do not think it is the perfect example for a subscription. A VPN, yes. A calendar, no.

Fantastical in its version 3.0 brings one of lime and another of sand for its users

For the first time macOS does not have a specific version of the Fantastical application. This is the same for all operating systems. The reason is because the company that created this magnificent app has converted it under a subscription model. Those who do not want to pay month to month will be able to continue enjoying their calendar on the Mac, now for free but only in basic mode.

The subscription prices are € 5.49 per month or if you prefer, you can save 33% by paying a whole year. In both plans you have a trial period of 14 days. The premium options are interesting, but I repeat, at least for me, I don't like to pay almost € 6 a month. I have had the application installed for years but I am aware that I do not take full advantage of it, I could even say that Apple's calendar application is enough for me.

The news that being premium brings and that differs from the basic or free version it relies primarily on personalization, productivity and collaborative work features. You can see the exact differences between one version and another on the official website of Flexibits. Fantastical 2 users will automatically update to version 3.0, but to access the new features you will have to pay

¿Would you be willing to pay this subscription model for the Fantastical 3.0 app?
