Few bugs in the macOS 11 Big Sur beta

Big Sur

One of the doubts or concerns that the installation of beta versions generates on our devices is the bugs that applications, tools, etc. may have. In this case and after a week of testing with macOS 11 Big Sur, in my particular case I can say that few failures or problems I have detected.

The reality is that all the beta versions released for developers are working very well and there are not too many bugs in them. Logically there are some compatibility problems with tools or apps and this it must be taken into account before launching the installation of the new operating system.

It depends on each team, but in most they work well

MacOS Big Sur mail error

Not all computers have the same applications, not all have the same hardware, and not all are so stable. Installing software in a beta version is never a good travel companion, but it is true that in this first version of macOS Big Sur launched by Apple in WWDC 2020 everything seems to work very well. A single unexpected closure in Mail is what I can share with all of you and what I have the installation done on an external SSD drive on a 12 inch MacBook.

As I said, the failure came from Mail and I took the screenshot that you see in this article to share it on the web. The bad thing about the beta versions is that you may find yourself with some incompatibility problem with your work tools or even with system failures, it seems that it is not the case of macOS Big Sur, since everything works quite well. Anyway, it is recommended if you want to install a beta version and you are not a developer, is that wait for the public beta versions and that you install them on a computer other than the main one or on an external disk as I usually do.

For the rest, there is no complaint, everything works as if it were an official version.
