iMovie and Final Cut Pro are updated adding support for sharing on YouTube and Facebook

Final Cut Pro X

One of the reasons why many professionals choose a Mac is because of Final Cut Pro, one of the most complete editors on the market and that little or nothing has to envy Adobe Premiere, another of the greats in the video editing industry, which is available on both Windows and macOS.

Leaving aside the competition that Adobe Premiere may have for Final Cut Pro, Apple's application just updated with minimal but noticeable changes for those users who usually work creating videos either for YouTube or for Facebook.

Once again it is shown that Apple is opening up to the world without being limited only to its ecosystem, since in addition, both the Clips application and iMovie for iOS are also being updated adding the same support as Motion and Compressor for Mac.

When we select any of these platforms when exporting the video, we will be able to select both compression and resolution and thumbnails. The files will be stored on the Mac but to upload them we will have to use the usual method of these platforms, since Final Cut Pro allows us to do so.

This is the second update the app has received in less than a month. Last November, Apple updated the app to remove the X from the app name and incidentally add support for the Apple Silicon that are already on the market.

Final Cut Pro is priced at 349 euros on the Mac App Store, a single payment that does not require any type of subscription that happens with Adobe Premiere, a subscription that can be more expensive or cheaper if we also want to use other applications from the same developer such as Photoshop, Lightroom, cloud storage.

iMovie, for its part, is available for download completely free of charge And it's a great way to start taking your first steps in the world of video editing.
