So in addition to having the "Search" option active when we have the iPhone nearby, if we lose the headphones and someone with an iPhone, iPad or Mac passes near them they will be connected in a totally private way to send the location to the owner. Obviously without having to do anything.
The precision search will also reach the headphones so it will be easier to locate them in case of loss through on-screen prompts. At the moment everything is about to be launched and it does not work officially in the beta 5 version of iOS 15, they may soon start adding it as a feature on AirPods.
