Apple's Find My‌ soon available for the ‌AirPods Pro‌ and ‌AirPods Max‌

Search

Find the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max option to be available soon after the Cupertino firm announced it earlier this year. To use this function we will have to add an Apple ID to the headphones.

In the latest beta version 5 released by Apple for iOS and iPadOS devices, the Web MacRumors I discovered the possibility of enabling this function in Apple headphones. As we said at the beginning, this function is only valid for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

So even if a user connects someone else's ‌AirPods‌ to their device, they will remain tied to the owner's ‌Apple ID‌ so it must be taken into account if we are going to give away or sell the headphones once linked to our account. To delete the ‌Apple ID‌ registered on AirPods and disabling the ‌Find My‌ Network feature, such as when passing ‌AirPods‌ to a new user, users will need to follow a series of manual steps similar to the process to unlink an AirTag from their account.

The options to find lost AirPods will remain almost the same as it happens with other Apple products, Macs, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and it will also work as AirTags do now. So in addition to having the "Search" option active when we have the iPhone nearby, if we lose the headphones and someone with an iPhone, iPad or Mac passes near them they will be connected in a totally private way to send the location to the owner. Obviously without having to do anything.

The precision search will also reach the headphones so it will be easier to locate them in case of loss through on-screen prompts. At the moment everything is about to be launched and it does not work officially in the beta 5 version of iOS 15, they may soon start adding it as a feature on AirPods.
