Firefox 87 Introduces New Tracker Blocking Mechanism

Firefox

The guys from the Mozilla Foundation have just released a new update to their Firefox browser, a new version with which it reaches version 87 and does so with a new function named SmartBlock which takes care of fixing websites that don't work properly due to Firefox's protection from trackers.

Many web pages they get confused (I can't find a better name to define it) when they are visited by browsers that block the trackers, and many images and part of the web stop working, not loading the pages or the forms ... With SmartBlock this problem is over.

SmartBlock has been designed to give an answer to this problem. As stated by Mozilla, it fixes web pages that are broken by our tracking protections without compromising user privacy.

Firefox fixes this by providing local plugins for blocked content that behave similarly to blocked content. Add-ons are included in Firefox and are not loaded from third-party websites, so user privacy is never compromised.

SmartBlock will replace the common scripts classified as trackers in the Disconnet Tracking Protection List. Thanks to this new functionality, users will see a improvement in the loading of web pages and a reduction in loading times.

The different elements to follow users that we can find on many web pages are, in 90% of cases, the culprits that some pages, especially newspapers, take so long to load.
