TSMC's first 2nm M4-powered Macs due later this year

Although we already have the M1 Ultra chip that Apple presented on the 8th, Tuesday, at the Peek Performance event, that does not mean that the other chips are left behind and do not receive their updates or improvements. In fact the new rumor seen in the specialized media of DigiTimes, is that this 2nm Apple M4 chip from TSMC, created by TSCM It will be present in the new Macs that are expected by the end of the year.

If you remember, surely yes, Apple presented up to three different Mac models at the Eurasian commission a few days before the presentation of the Peek Performance event on March 8. Rumors indicated that it was likely that Apple could present those three models at the event, but as we have seen, finally it has not been like that. We have the Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra and M1 Max and Kuo says the refreshed Mac mini won't be seen until 2023.

In this guise and now the rumor arises that the 2nm M4 chips are ready to be put in what will be the company's new Macs. That leaves little room for speculation and it's possible then that by the end of the year, we could see a new Mac Pro. Not a crazy idea considering that the Mac Studio is a hybrid between the mini and the Pro, (size and power) and that leaves an open door for those looking for the Pro model that still has advantages over this Studio.

The other model could be the one fixed by Ming-chi Kuo said earlier this week. A new MacBook Air which will go into mass production in the second or third quarter of this year. It will feature a new form factor design as well as more color options.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg also joins in on this possibility and reported in his latest Power On newsletter, that he has been told by a "developer source" that in recent weeks, Apple has been testing a chip that has an octa-core CPU and a 10-core GPU on multiple Macs in the latest beta version of macOS.
