OS X El Capitan-wallpaper-wallpaper-0

Some of those present will surely like it change background on your Mac on a regular basis. For those who would also like to have an animated background have several possible options, today we are going to see one of these options in the form of a beta tool called GIFPaperAgent. This allows us to use an animated GIF as a wallpaper.
The truth is that not all users are the same and obviously many of you will think that using a GIF as a background is not your thing, but with this tool, in addition to the thousands of GIFs that we can find on the net to place them in the background from our Mac, allows us to add our favorite Live Photos made with the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus.

If you are wondering if this consumes resources on the MacWell, obviously the answer is yes. We are talking about 15% of the CPU to display the GIF animations or Live Photos that we want. It is a tool that is in beta phase and therefore does not allow its use as a normal application, so this installation process is necessary through System Preferences and to close it we have to go to the activity monitor and close the process. Having said that, let's see how to install GIFPaperAgent on our Mac.

The first thing is to download the tool and for this we go to this Dropbox link. Inside the folder we find different files but we have to click on the first two files, first in GIFpaperAgent and then in GIFPaperPref.pref ... We adjust the settings to our liking and that's it.

Once installed, it is as simple as running the app from the Preferences Panel and selecting the GIF or Live Photo that we want and dragging it so that it remains as a desktop background. If we want to remove this tool from our Mac, all we have to do is select with the right button from the Preferences Panel and delete it.
