Almost all Safari adblockers are made through hacks - except for the new plugins - and they don't work very well, but GlimmerBlocker is presented as a totally different alternative since it works at the HTTP proxy level.
This operation allows the blocking to be more effective, less intrusive and above all, it allows to block the content before it reaches Safari, so it is much better than a CSS blocker.
