Google hires an Apple engineer to develop Fuchsia OS

Fuchsia OS

For a few years, the search giant has been working on what will be a new multiplatform operating system, with which Google wants manage any type of device, be it smartphone, laptop, wearable, connected devices ... something very similar to what Microsoft tried with Windows 10 on smartphones, computers and consoles but it did not work.

Fuchsia OS will be compatible with all the applications that today are compatible with Android. Each application will be available in different versions, versions that will show different functions and user interface in each type of device where it is installed. Again is exactly the same thing that Microsoft already tried. To try to advance the project, which is at a fairly advanced stage, Google has signed Bill Stevenson, Apple's senior engineer.

Bill Stevenson had been working at Apple for 14 years, his last position being from Managing Director of Mac and Windows Programs Management. The announcement of the march to work at Google has been made by Bill himself through his LinkedIn account, where he states that he will start working on the development of Fuchsia from February of this year.

bill nor specify what exactly will be your role in the development of Fuchsia. Over the past few years, Bill has accumulated extensive experience in software engineering, being one of the engineers who worked on the development of OS X in 2004. At the moment, it seems that Bill is the only Apple engineer who has decided to make the leap. to the ambitious project that Google is working on, a project that may still have a few years to go before it can see the light officially but that, like Microsoft's original idea, looks very good. It only remains to see how they carry it out.
