Gurman releases his forecasts for WWDC and there is no hardware in them

It is certainly something that does not come back to us and is that in most of the previous events held by Apple for developers, there is not much hardware to show. Now the inexhaustible Mark Gurman, Bloomberg, releases its forecasts for this year's WWDC, and it's no surprise that it doesn't talk about new hardware in them.

We are clear that this week is for developers and although it is true for some years Apple launched the odd Mac at the event, nothing new is expected for this year, rather the opposite, we will not have products according to Gurman. The new Macs, the Apple Watch or the iPad Pro, are expected later and it is possible that this Monday they will not appear physically in the keynote but the code leaves us clues of what we can see.

Like every year, expectations before WWDC are at their highest

Without being clear about what Apple could or could not show on Monday, expectations about what they are going to present are always high and beyond improvements in the new versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, you always want Apple to show some hardware. In principle, something in this sense could be related to Mac, but it does not seem that it will be the moment according to Gurman's words.

In the words of Gurman, Apple has planned updates of its equipment but later:

  • Intel chips and MacBook and MacBook Pro update later this year
  • New low-cost laptop to succeed the MacBook Air at the end of this year
  • A new design on iPads Pro also for after the September keynote
  • A couple of new Apple Watch models that maintain the full size of the current models, but with a larger screen by the end of the year as well

In short, everything seems to be planned for the end of the year or for the keynote of the month of September in which the new iPhone models will be presented, we will see if these predictions are fulfilled or if in the end we have a product in the keynote on Monday. Since it gives little to discover it.
