Has Apple hit the mark with the new Apple Pencil?

In a couple of days it will be a week since Apple presented its new arsenal of products. In Soy de Mac We have made a "KitKat" to be able to talk about these products and in this way that our readers, even though we are a blog dedicated to the Mac, they can be informed of everything in this first week.

We have already talked about almost everything that was presented in Keynote last Wednesday. There were news about the iPhone, the new Apple TV, new iCloud storage prices and new iPads, the iPad Pro and the iPad mini 4. However, it was not the only thing that was presented since there was also an allusion to new metallic finishes for the Apple Watch, new straps, partnerships with fashion and accessory companies for the iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard.

One of these last two is the one we want to talk about in this article, the Apple Pencil. For a long time the most professional sector demanded an electronic pencil from the apple company because, although other manufacturers have created many Compatible models no one better than Cupertino to create an electronic pen that is best implemented with your own iPad.

The fact is that due to the competition that is taking place between companies Apple has decided to pay attention to that segment of users and has launched the iPad Pro. However, many of us have taken our heads when we have seen that once more contradict the words said by Steve Jobs back in 2007 with the presentation of the original iPhone. 8 years ago Steve Jobs announced that Apple was not going to implement a stylus like the one that Casio's PDAs had at that time, for example.

He announced that the original iPhone was going to make use of the most precise pointer of the moment, which was our finger. At that time the new screen implemented was presented in that iPhone model, a screen in which multi-touch gestures made it unique. So… why has Apple turned back with the Apple Pencil for the iPad Pro?

If we stop to analyze the play cold, we can see that Apple has not really released an iPad with a pencil. It has released a larger iPad, with an improved screen, with an iOS overhaul and improvements in multi-touch gestures. However, for those who need freehand use of the iPad they have created an ACCESSORY called Apple Pencil just as for those who want a physical keyboard an ACCESSORY called Smart Keyboard. In both cases an enormous hardware engineering work has been done so that the result of its use is the best.

Now, it is not mandatory to use that Apple Pencil to be able to use the iPad Pro. It is a simple accessory that what it does is respond to the needs of a certain number of users. That is why we end by saying that the spirit of Steve Jobs is still there although there are things that have to evolve and for this the Apple Pencil has been created.

    Peter;

    Stylus: Plastic pointer to touch the icons on the screen.
    Pencil: Electronic device (even needs charging) that serves to DRAW with precision.

    I think it is quite easy to understand.

      AMEN.

      10 years ago, all tactile gadgets came with an essential plastic or metal gadget whose only function was to hit the screen, because with your fingers it was simply impossible.

      This is one more gadget that carries out very specific tasks that you cannot with a finger, but it is not an essential accessory for any type of use of the device. I think there is no incongruity. As if now, as there is the option of a physical keyboard, we say that it is a step back remembering Blackberry when one morning after coffee Jobs said that a physical keyboard is a delay ...
