Have iTunes save different backup copies of your devices

COPIES IN ITUNES

Today we bring you a small tutorial with which you can discover how to save different backup copies of your iOS devices in the iTunes on your Mac. With the launch of iCloud, the copies of your devices can also be stored in the Apple cloud although on certain occasions we are interested in having one "local" on the Mac.

As you know, when you connect a device such as the iPad, iPod or iPhone to iTunes, if you have it properly configured, it automatically makes a backup. If after a few days you reconnect the device to your Mac, make a copy again that overwrites the one that existed previously.

With this tutorial we explain a small modification that you should make so that in case you need it, save different copies on different dates, that is, it does not overwrite the last copy and with this have an exact copy of your computer at any given time . To do this, we go to the "iTunes Preferences" and from there we go to the "Devices" tab. As we can see, in the central window we will see the different existing copies with the name of the device and the date of its last backup. If we press the key "Ctrl"  and at the same time on the name of the backup, a pop-up menu will appear in which we will be able to select "Archive", and in this way, the next time we synchronize the device, iTunes will create a new backup , and keep the old one.
