Highlights is a powerful PDF reader focused on students and researchers. The application includes a number of very useful graphing and comment annotation tools. One of the most interesting features is the extraction of data in text tables from images embedded in the PDF.

With the new update, you can now score faster, with dynamic pop-up windows to include your comments. These notes can be extracted, sorted and color coded.
You can extract text data from an embedded image, even tables automatically and export them in CSV. You can also export your notes as Markdown, HTML, TextBundle or PDF files. Or directly to your favorite applications like Ulysses, Evernote, Bear, DEVONThink, Keep It and Apple Notes.
It is available in the App Store both Mac, iPhone and iPad for free without advertising but with some limited features. You also have the full Highlights Pro app with a subscription for all three platforms (macOS, iPhone and iPad) for € 3,49 per month or € 27,49 per year.
