How do you clean your Mac screen?

Mac computers

When it comes to keeping your Mac screen like the first day, The first thing you should do is stop to think which Mac is the one you have and where are the most critical points of it. Most of the time, these points are concentrated on the computer screen and in the possible grooves where dirt and liquids could enter.

Today I propose to share with you the way that I, I have personally cleaned the screens of my Mac computers, both laptops and desktops since I became part of this great family, the fanboys Apple.

If there is one thing that is total sacrilege, it is to have a computer from the most famous brand on the market, with a groundbreaking design and to have it dirty and poorly maintained. I am one of those who thinks that when something is bought, if the money you spend really hurts, take care of it as if it were part of you. I know that you don't have to go to such extremes, but in my case, it is not easy to have these equipment, I prefer to take care of them a lot.

As I have mentioned, the most critical point is the maintenance of the screen. It is necessary to differentiate if we are facing a screen that is protected with an extra glass in front of the panel itself or not. In the case of the MacBook Pro that are about to disappear, they have the screen behind glass, just like the screens of iMac. However, the MacBook Air, have the screen exposed without any protection.

MacBook Air

In both cases my cleaning procedure is the same, but in the case of the delicate screens of the MacBook Air, you must be very careful and do not press too hard because you could damage it.

  • Take a microfiber cloth and moisten it a little with glass cleaner that does not have rare components. The transparent ones better.

Microfiber

  • Once the cloth is moistened, proceed to wipe with gentle movements from one side of the screen to the other to remove dust and dirt.
  • After removing dirt and dust particles, you will see that the screen remains a little damp. Now you fold the cloth and on the clean part you begin to make circular movements along the length and width of it, guaranteeing that it is totally shiny and without traces.
  • Once the screen is clean, you wet the cloth again and go over all the keys on the keyboard and the body of the computer.

The process seems silly, but I have friends who have asked me how I get my equipment so shiny. The secret is, take care of them as if they were you.

    Good.

I just bought a Macbook air 11 from mid 2011, this one has a glossy screen and not a matte one. The fact is that in the lower corner of the screen it has a small cracking, as if it had a very thin protective film and this had been affected by some product. I have asked the seller and he states that he has not used any cleaning product and that he has never put a protector on this screen.

Has it happened to someone else? Does anyone know if they have an easy solution?

    Thank you. A greeting.

How about friends, let me tell you that and I also have a macbook air from 2011 but at no time have I seen such a fine film that you say, the way I clean this mac in particular, is with a wet flannel towel, without alcohol, the Flannel is microfiber, after passing the towel, I proceed to clean it with the glasses cleaning cloth and the same with the keyboard, and it has been maintained at 100, batteries. I hope you can find a solution to your problem.
