How to cancel your Zoom account on Mac

Zoom

One of the most used applications or tools during confinement for Covid-19 is Zoom. This tool for making work or personal video calls was in the eye of the hurricane for many days due to "confirmed" security problems and now we are going to show you how you can completely cancel your account from the Mac.

Zoom received a major update that fixes security issues detected in previous versions, but for many users that was not enough and they stopped using this application. Logically, if you can use FaceTime in your telework or with relatives it will always be much better, but the fact is that many families and companies do not have Apple products, so this tool has become essential for many.

As we always say there is other alternatives to Zoom and FaceTime, such as Skype. But leaving aside these options to make video calls, today we are going to see how we can delete our Zoom account without leaving a trace on the Mac.

The first thing we have to do is log in to Zoom, then click on the option "Delete my account" and we confirm it. Now the account will be completely eliminated from our team, be it a Mac or a PC, but if you have a paid account you must cancel the subscription beforehand and for this you have to look for the option "Current plans" once registered with our account and press in "Cancel subscription". When you finish you will have already deleted your Zoom account and now you can use other somewhat more secure options for video calls. If the use of Zoom is suggested to you in your work, we recommend FaceTime better for greater privacy and in case it cannot be directly use Skype, which is also free and multiplatform, as well as much safer in terms of privacy.
