How to change the window displayed when opening Finder

Surely many of those present already know this option that the Finder offers us to place the folder or disk that we want the Finder to open when we access it. Logically many others do not know this possibility and are left with the «Recent» files on the first page when we open the Finder.

That is why today what we are going to show is the simple and interesting option that Mac users have to open a folder, disk or whatever we want just open the Finder. Then we can navigate inside it or even open other tabs with more folders, iCloud Drive or any external or internal Mac disk.

What we have to do is very simple and surely you had this option modified before installing the new macOS Catalina or the operating system you have on your Mac from scratch, but when we perform a clean installation our configuration is eliminated, so let's see how to change the initial window that is displayed when opening Finder.

For this it is as simple as open Finder, access the Finder preferences at the top (next to the apple in the taskbar) and at General open the drop-down that appears at the bottom right where it says: "The new Finder windows show" and we place what we want. From that moment on, every time we open the Finder for whatever, the folder, the disk, iCloud or whatever we put in that drop-down will appear. Easy, fast and simple.
