In the Mac App Store we have at our disposal a large number of applications that allow us to both play videos and convert them to other formats. When playing videos, the best app In terms of format compatibility and price (free) it is VLC, an open source software.
Many times, open source is associated with poor quality software, but this is not the case with VLC, the only downside, to put it one way, is the XNUMXs design of the user interface. VLC is not only an excellent video player, but it also offers us a large number of additional functions.
In this case, we are talking about the function that allows us convert any video files to other formats. Being compatible with all existing video formats on the market, thanks to VLC we can convert any type of video, regardless of its format, to be able to play it on any device, no matter how old it is.
Convert videos to other formats
The first thing we must do, if we do not use VLC as the default player of our team, is download it directly from the Videolan website (developer of this application). Avoid downloading it from third-party applications to prevent any additional applications from slipping on you during the installation.
- Next, we open the application and go to the menu Archive and click on Convert.
- In the next step, we must drag the file we want to convert, or select it through the option Open middle.
- In the Select profile section, we must select output format to which we want to convert the file.
- Finally, we click on Save as file, and select the directory where we want to store the output file to be generated.
The processing time may take more or less time depending on its size and the output format that we select.
