How to get a help question for the login password

System preferences

One of the most common problems that users face in our day to day is that of not remembering passwords. It is not at all something that happens to few people, it is a fairly common problem and although it is true that there are methods to not forget them or even directly related apps to remind us of passwords, it is always good to have a "plan b".

In this case it is something that comes natively on all Macs so it will not be necessary to have another app or similar installed and it is the option that will help us remember the login password. This option can be activated from the System Preferences and today we will see how we can do it.

They are little more than two steps and they can solve a problem when for some reason we do not remember the password to start a Mac. This option is personally activated on the computers of other users, friends or acquaintances of whom one day need it. The password has to be secure and not all of them are valid, so it is important to put a complicated one and never repeat passwords on multiple sites, something that unfortunately happens frequently.

Show password hints

This option is the one that will help us in case of forgetting the startup password and it is activated in a simple way by entering the System Preferences, placing this same password to unlock the lower lock and then activating the option "Show password indications".

So When for some reason we do not remember this password, the team itself will suggest a question / phrase that we had previously written to make it easier for us to remember the password. This option, as I say, is great for many people and prevents problems when putting greater security in the password for fear of forgetting it. Editing or filling in this option and not repeating passwords is better.
