From the MacOs Safari browser it is possible to print a document in paper or digital formats as compatible as PDF. This is done by any browser on an operating system. But It is possible to have the document only with the text of it, dispensing with graphics, disjointed images, advertising, etc.. Also, this function saves printer ink and paper when printing the document. What we're going to see today isn't really a new trick or feature. It is one more feature that our fantastic MacOs has, but it goes unnoticed until someone discovers it and shares it with the Mac community.
As we were advancing, it is not a trick, if not the use of a Safari function, but in this case in a different way. It is about making use of the function reading mode, found on our Macs since the latest versions of MacOS.
Possibly, you have found out how this function is performed, if not, I will tell you below:
- Open Safari y go to the page you want to consult and get the text document. It is important that the page has an article. If they are drawings with messages inside, it is difficult for Safari to detect it as the whole of an article and it will not activate reading mode.
- If it detects it, we are in luck. You can check it on the left side of the address bar. Its symbol is three lines that simulate text and a quarter of half size. It is therefore the simplification of a text. Click on this symbol.
- Then the reading mode opens, with the text and images that illustrate it, but nothing else.
- Now just you must access File - print, as you would with any other document or save as PDF in the lower left part of the print screen.
Now you will have a printed article, just as you would find it in a text document.
