A few days ago I wanted to write about this and it is that Apple has not tried too hard with the way in which users have to see if an application is compatible with Apple TV. What I mean by this? Well, for iOS or watchOS devices, the way to see if an application is compatible is more or less easy to find out, but in the case of the new fourth generation Apple TV it is more complicated although we also have a data that marks it.
To give an example so that you all understand me, in the case of universal applications (for iPad and iPhone) the clearest signs that we have in the App Store are clear, a + symbol next to name in the case of universal applications or a clear «Offers the app for the Apple Watch » indicate the compatibility of that application and in the case of Apple TV it is not so clear but there is a brand which we will now see how to find.
It is simpler than many may think and it is not at all standard in all applications. What happens is that in this case Appl is not in charge of distinguishing these applications compatible with Apple TV, it is the developer himself who takes care of it and that is why it is more hidden.
When we want to download an application for our Apple TV or simply want to see if it is compatible with tvOS, all we have to look at is the description of the application. If the developer indicates it, we will see at the bottom something like this:
In the event that this does not appear in the description, it will mean that the app is not compatible with Apple TV.. It may also be that the developer is not aware of it and there are applications compatible with Apple TV that do not notice it in the "Details" of the app, but it is usually included.
