In case of being using a Mac to find your missing AirPods, you must do the following:
- Go to iCloud.com
- Connect with your Apple ID
- Open «Find iPhone»
- Click All Devices, then your AirPods
If all this you are doing through your iPhone or iPad, the sequence you must do is the following:
- Open the Find My iPhone app
- Sign in with your Apple ID and password
- Press your AirPods
Then on the map you will see different points in different shades: blue is the one that refers to the equipment you are using for the search; green is the AirPod you're looking for and it's turned on; the possible gray dot is the AirPods inside their box or that are disconnected.
It is also possible that at loss, one AirPod has fallen in one area and the other AirPod in another. They won't both appear on the map, so Apple advises picking up the one that appears on the screen, placing it in its box, and searching for the second unit.
