The iMac Retina 5K is an incredible computer, and I can happily say so since I write these lines from one. Its impressive resolution leaves anyone astonished, and despite having spent five years enjoying Retina technology (since the iPhone 4) the truth is that it is impressive to see this quality on such a large screen. But suddenly it has come to the fore a future in 8K, and of course the world looks to Apple.
More and more
Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) has announced the standard Display Port 1.4a for the year 2016, which will allow computers to bring resolutions of up to 8K, something unthinkable a few years ago and that we have only now been able to begin to imagine thanks to Apple's incredible creation, which reaches a "modest" 5K.
VESA has also announced that the new standard It includes many technical improvements aimed at reducing electricity consumption by screens, something that will have a significant impact on the battery consumption of laptops, and that will surely interest Apple in the future MacBook since the battery life is becoming the great incentive of the new generations of this type of computer.
Of course, although the standard is ready for 2016, That's not to say that Apple is releasing an 8K Retina iMac. It has taken a long time to reach 5K and it is to be expected that at least for 3 or 4 years it will remain as the top-of-the-range resolution for Apple, but time flies and let's not rule out seeing an iMac with such an incredible screen in the medium term.
Who knows if they don't renew the screen? I think we stayed at the Apple Cinema Display ...
Maybe I will get an 8K and OLED monitor and more technologies that escape me ideal for photography and video professionals
