iBooks Author will disappear from the Mac App Store on July 1

iBooks Author

Apple makes available to any Mac user, the free iBooks Author application, an application with which we can easily create books for the iPhone, iPad and Mac with texts, videos, image galleries, interactive diagrams, mathematical expressions, 3D objects ... and practically anything that comes to mind.

This application available on the Mac App Store since 2012 and it has allowed many users to create cookbooks, textbooks, photographs ... thanks to the large number of templates offered by the application and the integrated editing options. But all the good stuff ends, and Apple just announced the iBooks Author will disappear from the Mac App Store on July 1.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has sent an email to all users of this application, in which he informs them of this movement and urges them to use Pages to continue their work in the creation of books, thanks to the wide number of tools that he puts at our disposal.

Thank you for being a member of the iBooks Author community. We have some news to share with you about the future of book making.

Two years ago we brought bookmaking to Pages. With key features like the ability to work on the iPad, collaborate with others on a shared book, draw with Apple Pencil, and more, Pages is a great platform for creating books.

As we focus our efforts on Pages, iBooks Author will no longer be updated and will soon be removed from the Mac App Store. You can continue to use iBooks Author on MacOS 10.15 and earlier, and previously published books on Apple Books will continue to be available. If you have books from iBooks Author that you would like to import into Pages for further editing, we have a book import feature coming to Pages soon.

The latest update of this app is almost two years old, an unequivocal symptom of Apple's plans with this application did not go through updating it.
