When new Apple devices come to light and on the market, we are all crazy to be able to read, see or listen to the first analyzes. Typically they are from its capabilities and software as well as operation. But once we have that data, we wait for iFixit to produce the magic and proceed to open and see the interior of each one of them. Now we have a comparison between Third-generation AirPods and beats Fit Pro.
In a video posted by iFixit members, you can see the entire process and the conclusions that are drawn from the analysis of the two devices. The thing to keep in mind is that they are two very small headphones and for that reason, it is difficult not only to disassemble it, but also to appreciate its parts well, without having to remove a cable here or a piece there. iFixit needed to use a clamp to apply enough pressure to break the adhesive seal using a prong on the two plastic halves.
In the six-minute YouTube video, iFixit opens up both Apple audio accessories and shows us what they look like on the inside. Given their small size, both devices feature a bundle of components that includes delicate cables, chips and the battery for each earbud.
While the repair company was able to get to the battery in both cases, they caused what appears to be irreparable damage to the headphones. Neither AirPods nor Beats Fit Pro are designed to reattach once opened. You can also see some additional details about both wireless headphones, including Apple's proprietary H1 chip and the mechanisms that drive the company's spatial audio function.
Unsurprisingly, iFixit gave the third-gen AirPods and Beats Fit Pro a zero out of 10 on its repairability scale.
