iFixit disassembles the new 13-inch MacBook Pro and these are its news

MacBook Pro 2019 iFixit

The guys from iFixit already have the new 13 2019-inch MacBook Pro and they have ginned it to know its news. First impressions is a Mac with bigger battery, but instead we find a SSD that cannot be changed.

They are changes that can be understood as logical. Today every time we need more portability and maybe less space to store content, because we have space in the cloud and external memory that we can connect to our computer when we are in desktop mode. These are all changes from the previous model.

We find certain components that are smaller in size, thanks to the advancement of technology. On the other hand, now the SSD memory is soldered and it cannot be replaced. This implies correctly choosing the amount of memory that we are going to need. If our use is office automation, photo editing and we work with external memories or information in the cloud, a model with 128GB or 256GB may be enough, but if you work with large files such as video or travel frequently, surely you need at least 512GB .

On the other hand, this reduction of the space of certain components, allows to equip the equipment with a larger battery. Apple has not commented on this, so we do not know the gain in battery life. The base of the base model did not have a Touch Bar or Touch ID. This model somewhat thinner than its predecessor can compromise heat dissipation. Apple should plan for these changes. In addition, the comparison with the predecessor shows more cores but at a lower speed. This should allow less heat generation.

Finally, the rest of the hardware components remain as they were. iFixit again rates this Mac as one of the more expensive to repair if done outside of Apple. The score they offer is 2 out of 10. We will see what thermal results this team has in the coming days.
