iFixit Finds Changes to New 2018 MacBook Pro Butterfly Keyboard

Our partner Jordi was ahead of you in his article A few hours ago, that the new Apple keyboard was quieter and this action would be aimed at causing fewer errors in the Apple butterfly keyboard that the MacBook Pro carry from 2016.

But in addition to this first impression, the guys at iFixit who are known for ginning any Apple product that comes out on the market, have verified major changes to the keyboard of the new MacBook Pro. A thin membrane covers the inside of each key, protecting the entry of dust inside. This also causes noise reduction.

iFixit describes it to us as follows in its article:

This flexible fabric is obviously a measure that tests the entrance and prevents the mechanism from seizing the brutal entrance of microscopic dust, imperceptible to our eyes. In addition, it is a measure that causes silence. In fact, Apple has a patent for this technology exactly designed to "prevent and / or alleviate the entry of pollutants"

Apple's strategy is being correct. Changing the keyboard involves acknowledging the error as well as making a readjustment to the keyboard layoutThe keyboard being part of the narrowness of portable Mac. However, the solution is implemented on the same keyboard, but reinforcing the weakest part of it. Apple will never acknowledge that the change is due to the many problems encountered, despite having a replacement program for problem keyboards.

iFixit proposes to put this keyboard to the test, to see how far it can go and discover if Apple has done its homework correctly and has solved the incident. To do this, it will subject the Apple keyboard to all kinds of tests with dust in the environment in the coming weeks, to evaluate its capacity.

In another sense, it is unknown what treatment the 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pros will be given in the Apple Store. That is, When a customer comes in with a keyboard problem, the keyboard will be replaced with a 2018 keyboard or they will continue to replace keyboards with older models until the stock of spare parts runs out. Any news in this regard, we will keep you informed.
