The analyst of the firm Gene Munster, Peter Jaffray, using as a basis of statistics those compiled by the consulting firm NPD has concluded that sales of the iMac have grown around 29% during the months of October and November and with a prediction of 13% more on all Macs, only during the month of December.
Although currently the sales of the entire Mac range are not at their strongest point although they continue to rise, it seems that there are still models that they continue their ascension year after year and the iMac could not be less, crowning itself as one of the best-selling all-in-one systems in the US not only within Apple but also as a competitor for the entire market within its same range.
If we remember, the appearance of this new model during the winter season Last year was a rebound in sales for Apple and an effort to make the factory production line cope with so much demand. All this led to approximate delivery dates of more than a month in the worst case for custom configurations.
While 29 percent of Mac growth looks strong year-over-year, we also note that Apple sold 700.000 iMacs in the December 2012 quarter. While it's hard to keep track of the difference between those 700.000 iMac's in the Last year with the current NPD numbers, we believe that the NPD data relationship is easily manageable since during a year the recovery of sales in Mac is evident. Still we remain comfortable with our 13 percent year-over-year growth expectation in Macs.
