As you already know from what my colleague Pedro has commented in a previous post, It seems that Oracle has jumped on the bandwagon of companies that integrate adware into the software they launch in order to finance or obtain more benefits for the company. This is the case of Java and its latest version 8 "update 40", where Oracle has seen fit to give us a nice adware that is installed as search bar in browser and that above does not include any option to reject its installation.

In this way we will have no choice but to install the update with the bar included or at least that is what the people of Oracle have thought since effectivelyand there is a method to pass by the installation of this adware and not having to go after deleting it with third-party programs.

The operation is very simple, we will only have to download the image directly from the official website through this link, once we have it open a window will appear with the icon to proceed with the installation.

Instead of executing said installer, we will click on it with the right button or by doing CMD + Click to show the auxiliary menu and we will choose "Show package content". The next step in the window where the «Content» folder will appear, we will open it and we will be able to see different folders, the one that We are interested in Resources since once inside this folder we will have to locate the file called "JavaAppletPlugin.pkg".

The last thing we have to do is run said file right click> open or if Gatekeeper did not allow us to run it, simply changing the security options from the preferences panel or allowing it to run would be enough. From this point on, it is only necessary to install the plug-in as we normally would and we will have Java updated without having gone through the hoop of the happy bar.
