The jailbreak for tvOS 10.1 could be a reality

Many have passed since the last jailbreak was available on an Apple TV. Since then Apple has launched the third and fourth generation of Apple TV, without having rumored at any time the possibility that the jailbreak could get inside. But it seems that these years of neglect are about to end, at least according to nitoTV. Kevin Bradley, better known as nitoTV, published last Friday a series of tweets mentioning the possibility that the jailbreak could arrive at some time of the year to tvOS 10.1, suggesting to users that if they are interested, they downgrade to this version of tvOS.

It is not the first time, nor will it be the last, that a hacker claims to have a jailbreak for a version of iOS about to launch it, recommending that users who are aware of it downgrade or stay on the current version of iOS at that time. But it looks like it could be sooner rather than later, as Bradley told iDownloadblog, is trying to take advantage of Luca Todesco's Yalu jailbreak to adapt it to Apple's set-top-box operating system fourth generation. Keep in mind that both iOS and tvOS are developed on the same basis and the main difference between the two is the graphical interface.

The guys from Cupertino released tvOS 10.1.1 last week and depending on your device settings, Apple TV may have already been updated to this latest version automatically. Fortunately for those users of this device interested in being able to jailbreak, as of the publication of this article, Apple continues to sign tvOS 10.1. In order to restore the device to the previous version, you can download the firmware from here and connect the Apple TV to the PC or Mac by starting it in DFU mode, as we would do with the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
