Keka, one of the best file compressors for macOS

File compression is not something that is used only when we want to share one or more files with other people, but it is a tool that is used daily on the internet, to be able to offer as much information as possible in the shortest time. The more compressed the information is, the faster it will be downloaded, so its speed will be much faster than if, for example, we visit web pages whose charging time is longer. Google, without going any further, penalizes web pages whose loading time is high, either because of the size of their images or because they have a large number of scripts that slow down the loading of the same.

When we want to share a file or several, the fastest way to do it is to compress it, to try to make it take up less space. If we talk about images in JPG format, the compression rate that we can obtain will be small (it is a format in itself compressed), however if we talk about files in PNG format, the rate can be very high, as if we talk about files of text, spreadsheets ... To manage, compress and decompress files one of the best applications that we can use is Keka.

Keka supports a wide variety of formats that allows us to create batch files in addition to protecting them with passwords in a very simple way. To compress any file or folder we just have to drag it to the application icon and it will start to do its job. To unzip them, we just have to double click on the file in question and it will start automatically.

Keka is capable of compressing in the following formats: 7z, zip, tar, gzip, bsip2, ISO and DMG and is capable of decompressing the formats: rar. 7z, lama, zip, tar, gzip, bzip2, ISO, EXE, CAB and PAX.
