RSS is an XML format and one of the best ways to keep in touch with all those websites that we visit most often. I always add my sources to the RSS reader so that I don't have to constantly visit each one of them in the browser and stay informed with all the updated websites in one place.

Here we see that there is a fairly significant number of RSS readers on Mac and that they can be downloaded from the App Store, however today we are going to focus on Leaf, one of the best RSS readers on Mac and that is constantly being updated and improving certain bugs and other aspects of the interface.

Leaf has a user interface very simple but at the same time colorful since it integrates the possibility of using it with OS X gestures, in addition to looking quite polished thanks to the small icons next to the news that are updated with the header image of each of the articles adding different themes and colors to cover all kinds of tastes.

Also in the upper bar we have the possibility of show or hide the tree with added fonts, including the method of displaying the news in case we want to see all of them, only the "unread" ones or directly those that we have marked as favorites.

In the preferences menu we can choose the update interval of the news, where by default it will be configured as 5 minutes, in addition to being able to save unread news for a predefined maximum time. Activate the gestures or open the news directly in the browser.

On the other hand, it is also important to highlight the three different reading modes, starting with the "summary" mode where only the summary of the article is shown, the "Clutter-free" mode which would be as if we viewed the article from a smartphone or the web mode that already shows us the entire page.

Lastly, Leaf also supports .OMPL files for export or import your feeds with the possibility of adding different options to share this news through Facebook, Evernote, Buffer, Airdrop ...

In short, Leaf is a great RSS reader that, although it does not rise to the level of Reeder in certain aspects, is an excellent option to take into account, it is available through the Mac App Store at a price of 3,99 Euros.
