«Apple Energy LLC», a new subsidiary of the brand, comes to light

Solar Park

Apple has wanted to take a step forward in its way of managing the energy used by the company. To do this, they have created Apple Energy LLC, a new subsidiary company that would be in charge of reselling that surplus green energy produced in the Cupertino and Nevada solar parks, currently aimed at almost completely supplying the new Apple Campus 2 that they are still building and that is scheduled to finish at the beginning of the next year.

Apple Energy is registered as a limited liability company in Delaware and is a 100% subsidiary of Apple Inc. Apple Energy LLC, One Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA 95014

As Apple itself cites, this Delaware-based subsidiary belongs entirely to the apple company, with a registration date of May 20.

This represents for them a great advance in their history in constant search for self-sufficient energy management. We know that they have always been able to boast of having a large part of their factories and corporate headquarters managed and powered by clean energy. With this new improvement, they also ensure that they can contribute that energy to the bulk of the electrical grid, thus facilitating access to said green energy by other companies.

Campus 2 Apple

Campus 2, future Apple headquarters as of 2017, still under construction.

This also opens the door for Apple to a possible clean energy food market for the rest of the consumers dependent on the electricity grid, including final consumers (that is, small businesses and even private homes). This market niche is currently little exploited due to restrictive US government laws, but the fact that the almighty Californian company carries out this type of internal management entails, at a minimum, to sit down to negotiate on this new option.

In addition, some rumors and assumptions mention that there could be some relationship between the creation of this new subsidiary company of the company, with the Titan Project (apple electric car project). Be that as it may, it is still too early to know where all this will evolve. What is clear to us is that we have some exciting years of development ahead of us and that the best is yet to come, to our delight.
