Lilyview, a lightweight photo viewer

lilyview-0

If you belong to that group of people who put simplicity first and minimalism on complex menus with tons of options, it is quite likely that you will love Lilyview for its concept.

This application is neither more nor less than a simple photo viewer but with the difference that practically all the time we will be viewing images and using the multi-touch gestures of the trackpad to enlarge, reduce or flip the photos no more buttons or menus to distract us.

The key to LilyView is its simplicity, elegance, efficiency and speed […]. There is not a large photo library, there is also no collection of filters to edit the image. Most of the time there isn't even a user interface at all, just the images.

Perhaps what I liked the most is that this program supports most image file extensions, from the .tiff to RAW images without there being anything more than dragging the folder where we have these images saved to be able to see them as we see fit.

For the time being is a somewhat premature version and with few customization options, however its creators have already warned that the application is in version 1.0 and there are still many things to come.

Lilyview can be downloaded directly from the Mac App Store at a price of 4,49 € or from the developers' website as a demo so you can try it out and see if it convinces you enough to make it your default application when it comes to viewing photos.

Seriously, would you pay € 4 for something that your system does for FREE?

Select the photos, press space and use the arrows to move from one to another. This is called QuickLook.

    You're welcome.

Of course QuickLook is another very valid option, I have never said otherwise.
The point in favor of Lilyview is that you can use the multi-touch gestures of the trackpad to rotate or zoom in the images (with QuickLook you can't), and its creators have already promised to improve it little by little, including more options.
For now it is not essential and it is also expensive, but who knows if it ends up being so later.

      You're welcome.
