    Just today I called Apple Care to ask if I could not (that I cannot) use my old 21 ″ iMac from 2013 as an external display for my new MacBook Pro M1Pro from 2021 and they said no (first they told me maybe yes , with a USB-C / MBP adapter> MiniDisplayPort / iMac).

    Would this program that you say, Luna Display, be valid to see my MBP 2011 on my iMac, that is, simply use the iMac as an external screen? (that is, as the function that before could be done with [cmd] + [F2]? Thanks

      I would say yes, since it requires at least a Mac from 2011 with El Capitan installed. But it is software with hardware, not just software.

      Mac Requirements
      The Primary Mac must be a 2011 model or newer, and must be running macOS 10.11 El Capitan or later. You may use this Primary Mac for either Mac-to-iPad Mode or Mac-to-Mac Mode.
