Advanced settings for trackpad operation in macOS

One of the things that I have always kept in mind when someone asks me to configure and explain the mac system is how the trackpad works. When you turn on an Apple computer for the first time, there are many things and details that you must take into account to be able to get all the functions and new work processes that it offers you.

One of the things that must be configured is the operation of the trackpad and it is that it has a multi-touch surface on which a wide variety of gestures can be performed either with one finger, two fingers, three fingers or four fingers.

The basic configuration of the trackpad can be done by going into System Preferences> Trackpad. The window is divided into three tabs, Point and Click, Scroll and Zoom, and More Gestures. Apple has done its job well and it is that a series of videos have been included in the same window that shows how to do each of the gestures on the trackpad.

Now, the gestures that can be made on the trackpad may be more than those we see in the window that we have discussed. For example, a gesture that I really like and that does not come in that window is dragging things on the desktop with three fingers, but we have to activate that elsewhere.

For this we must enter System Preferences> Accessibility> Mouse and Trackpad.

In the left sidebar you can select Mouse and trackpad and then in the window that is shown, click on Trackpad options, after which it shows us an extra number of possibilities with which to configure the trackpad.
