MacOS makes it easy for us to track courier packages

Any Apple operating system brings with it a large number of more or less hidden functions. On many occasions they go more or less unnoticed, but if this option improves our way of working, it makes us appreciate it in the same way as a great innovation of our MacOS.

This time we will see a small feature widely used if we frequently receive packages by courier. Various MacOS applications are able to detect a shipment reference for a package and in an almost magical way, it links to the shipping inquiry page of the courier company, to quickly tell you where your shipment is.

To begin with, MacOS Sierra is capable of detecting shipment reference numbers in emails or messages, but actually our detector can work with almost any MacOS application. We know if a shipping reference has been detected when we see the underlined reference number.

At that time, we must click on that number. Then a pop-up window should appear from this same number. Actually, we will see a safari page that opens by linking the number. From this page, we can track the shipment. However, if we need to make more inquiries or for some reason a part of the message does not open, we can always click on Open in Safari, which is at the top of the pop-up window that has just been displayed.

Today this feature is used intensively in certain parts of the planet. In certain parts of the US, virtually all purchases are made by courier services. Thus, It is a feature that we will use more and more and therefore it is good that we know it. Finally, MacOs has this function enabled for other services as well: for example, flight locators are activated in the same way, and with this we know the status of the flight we are interested in.
