Malware in macOS exists but falls this 2020 according to Malwarebytes

It is clear that malware exists for all computers, whether with Windows or macOS operating systems. This is not something new for us but it is true that in macOS we have always had "a little more security" due to the decisions made by Apple, although macOS malware has always existed and always will.

In this case, according to a study carried out by the firm Malwarebytes, the amount of malware detected in 2020 was 38% lower than in 2019. For users of the Windows operating system, the figures are also positive but somewhat lower, in this case there is a 12% decrease in malware in total, counting users and companies.

Malware is usually related to pages in which the user accepts everything without taking anything into account, with few but a few pirate apps that are downloaded to the Mac and logically with some pirate utilities that are installed on the computer and infect it. Malware mostly on Macs is related to false notifications or advertisements that cannot be removed from the computer, rarely will malware affect your private data but it is true that 1,5% of all malware that is detected could be really dangerous for the user.

The places or countries where malware is most detected on Macs, of course, is the United States. There the number of Apple equipment exceeds the usual average in the rest of the world and it is logical that much more is detected there. It is followed by the United Kingdom, Canada and France, in this ranking of detections. On the other hand some 747 threats have been detected in our country. Be that as it may, these data reflect a high decrease in them and clearly indicate that malware exists, but that it was less on Apple computers during 2020.
