The macOS Monterey Notes app may not be backward compatible

Fault Notes

One of the applications that has received the most changes and improvements in recent times has been that of Apple Notes. This application has really changed the way we save notes on our devices, be it the Mac, iPhone or iPad.

Well, in the latest version released of macOS and iOS, the Notes app adds numerous changes and improvements, however it seems that the app also shows some compatibility error with the notes that we have stored in the computers with previous versions ...

If the Notes app detects a device in the iCloud account that is found running an older version of macOS Big Sur 11.3 or iOS 14.5 will send us a notification in which it clearly states that the tagged notes or mentions will not be available on those devices.

This post is strange the latest versions of iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur support these features and therefore the reason for this warning or compatibility failure is not understood. Both iOS 15 and macOS Monterey are currently available in beta for developers and registered users of the Apple Public Software Program.

It may be the case that it is a bug in the beta version and that is why Apple will have to correct this function in later versions. The final versions of macOS Monterey, iOS and iPadOS are expected to arrive officially this fall, but we do not have an exact date for this release. At the moment we are seeing the Developer beta versions and public beta versions.
