How to manage spam folders in Mail

mail-osx

Mail is one of those applications that seems somewhat "archaic" in terms of its own interface and even in some aspects not very productive. Thus have a good configuration in Mail preferences It is something that we have to edit in our way of working or using it.

In my personal case, and surely in many of you, "junk mail or spam" is a constant in my inbox. So what we are going to show today is the way to stay a little out of this type of post. by activating the filter and tapping some spam settings.

The first thing is to have this spam filter activated in the Mail Preferences. For this we only have to access Mail> Preferences> Spam and activate the filter.

Once we have this filter activated with the corresponding "check" the issue is to adjust the parameters to what we want to distinguish us in spam. The truth is that there are several configuration options and as standard on all Macs the option is activated: Mark as spam, but leave it in the inbox. In my case and after a while in which you see these emails more or less on a daily basis, what I did was pass them directly to: Move to junk mailbox. In this way they no longer pass me to the input folder and once every month or two months, I review that mailbox by deleting all the emails that do not interest me and incidentally I gain space on the Mac.

The Mail application of OS X, we also allows you to use preset filters for the mails. This also allows us create our own rules to divert the email to spam we will see it another time.

Thank you Jordi for your post, but my question is how to indicate again that the email I have as spam if it is a desired email, because I cannot do it according to what is indicated, I have the macOS x sierra version, thank you very much.

Good Jose Manuel, you have to enter the spam folder and press the right button. When you get the menu you have to select "transfer to entry" and that's it. That email will stay in your inbox.
